This poster caught my eye. I like the colors and various textures, and hope I can learn how to replicate them. The background, the white circle in the middle are textured and the points on the "PechaKucha" and the light bulbs add detail and remind us of a certain era. The word "Durban" feels playful and like it's bouncing. This seems to be created by placing each letter up and down and slightly away from one another. Lastly, I enjoy the clean line created by the right alignment of the text.
I volunteer for Champaign-Urbana's local Pecha Kucha Night planning team. We create our own graphical posters. These groups are all over the world and showcase some pretty cool graphic design pieces in their event promo poster!
